Slows him down 
My lab inhales his food and a friend of mine was telling me that their stomachs can flip if they eat to fast. So, I found this bowl and it definitely slows him down. The bumps make it harder for him to lick it all up at once.

Good looking functional dog bowl 
My adopted mutt inhaled her food when we first got her. This bowl has really helped her slow down her eating and she seems to have less gas. We like the pink color too and it seem sturdy enough to last for years.
